Mo Supreme Court unanimously votes to uphold Prop A and the will of the people

KANSAS CITY – Missouri Jobs with Justice released the following statement after corporate interest groups, lost their bid at the Missouri Supreme Court to repeal Proposition A:

“Today, workers won. Missouri workers and businesses from across the state banded together to fight against the disingenuous petition brought to the Missouri Supreme Court by special interest groups and trade associations trying to undermine the results from our citizen-led initiative to increase the minimum wage and guarantee paid sick leave. Now, it’s time for politicians in Jefferson City to follow the will of the people and stop these attacks on Proposition A.

“Workers will begin to accrue paid sick leave starting this Thursday, May 1st. Jobs with Justice has set up a website, www.moworkersrights.org where workers and business owners can ask questions about compliance with the law.”
