A funeral will be held Monday, April 28, 2025 for 87-year-old Cecelia “Sissy” A. Osman of Chester, Ill., who passed away at 11:17 am, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Three Springs Senior Living & Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.
She was born October 30, 1937 in DuBois, Ill. to Jerome and Silverine (nee Miller) Szabelski who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by four sons: Jim (Deb) Faverty of Chester, Ill., Jerry (Chris) Szabelski of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Jimmie Osman of Chester, Ill., Steven Miller of Chester, Ill.; a daughter: Cheryl Faverty Nowotny of Chester, Ill.; a brother: Ronnie Szabelski of Ashley, Ill.; a sister: Joleen Bowen of Chester, Ill.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was also preceded in death by: a son: Robert J. Faverty; a brother: Edward Szabelski; two sisters-in-law: Anna Ruth Szabelski and Charlotte Szabelski; and a brother-in-law: Bob Bowen.
She was a retired certified nursing assistant and had worked at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, Illinois. Her legacy is that she was the best CNA they ever had.
Sissy loved cats and enjoyed doing puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2025 and 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, Ill.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
