A funeral will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 for 90-year-old Mavis Elsie (Grogan) Fahnestock of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., passed away peacefully April 15, 2025, at Camelot Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Farmington, Mo.
Mavis was born in Ellington, Mo., January 29, 1935, the daughter of Troy Grogan and Lola (Gore) Grogan. One of three siblings, she grew up in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
She married Delbert Kenneth Fahnestock. He preceded her in death.
Mavis was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 66 years, Delbert; her parents, Troy and Lola Grogan; and her brother, Ray Grogan.
Mavis is survived by her daughter, Dena (Mike) Branstetter of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; sister, Melba Bauman of New Mexico; granddaughter, Kayla (Patrick) Johnson of Farmington, Mo.; two great granddaughters, Dylan Johnson and Charlie Johnson of Farmington, Mo.; beloved nephew, Bruce (Laurie) Bauman of Farmersville, Tex.; and a multitude of family and friends.
Mavis was a truly remarkable woman.
She was a woman of deep Christian faith and was a member of the New Offenburg First Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, generous, wise, and beautiful woman who brought joy to our lives.
Visitation will be held at Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve on April 25 from 8:30 – 11:30 with the funeral service at 11:30. Clergy will be Reverend Berry.
Burial will follow at Genevieve Baptist Cemetery in Ste. Genvieve, MO.
