We’re halfway there – fight hunger with your local Girl Scouts

SPRINGFIELD – Troops of Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland are making a real difference in your communities through their 2025 Fighting Hunger campaign. But they still need your help!

Throughout April, local Girl Scout troops have been working hard to encourage your community to donate non-perishable food items to support local food banks and pantries. With just a few weeks left, they’re calling on you to join the fight against hunger and help them make a lasting impact on your community members facing food insecurity.

Here’s how you can help:

Leave a Donation (or many) for Curbside Pickup

If you have received a door hanger, don’t forget to set out your non-perishable food donations for Girl Scout pickup on Saturday, May 3. Just leave them on the curb – your local Girl Scout troop will do the rest!

Encourage Local Businesses to Join

Local businesses can still get involved by hosting collection drives or donating directly to a local food bank. Those who contribute and submit a report will earn a special Fighting Hunger patch as a thank-you!
