A funeral will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 for 97-year-old Helen Frances Naeger of Sainte Genevieve, who passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
She was born June 5, 1924 in Bloomsdale, Mo., the daughter of Frank G. Grass and Annie (Ritter) Grass who both preceded her in death.
She married Wilfred H. Naeger October 14, 1947. He preceded her in death in July 1989.
She is survived by three sons: Kenneth J. (Donna) Naeger of Bloomsdale, Mo., Adrian H. (Laura) Naeger of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., and Vincent G. Naeger of Sainte Genevieve; five daughters: Diana L. (Larry) Kehoe of Dexter, Mo., Geraldine H. (Gary) LaRose of Sainte Genevieve, Elaine F. (Allen) Brischle of Weingarten, Mo., Paulette M. (Daniel) Staffen of Sainte Genevieve, and Delores A. (Steve) Basler of Bloomsdale; a daughter-in-law: Carolyn Naeger of Ozora, Mo.; 20 grandchildren: Christine, Jodie, Carla, Zach, Erica, Michael, Greg, Nathan, Shane, Dwayne, Marissa, Christopher, Amanda, Julie, Danny Jr., Dana, Sheila, Adam, Ethan, and Beth; four step-grandchildren: Andy, Jim, Jeanetta, and Leslie; 35 great-grandchildren, 11 step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Daniel W. Naeger; four brothers: Nick Grass, Leo Grass, Valentine Grass, and Arthur F. Grass; five sisters: Julia Huck, Theresa LaRose, Alice Walker, and Edna Hermann, and an infant: Maria Grass.
Helen’s family was important to her. She loved the company of her grandkids, nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
She loved embroidery, quilting, and her cat Zoey.
Helen loved the outdoors and had a green thumb.
Her wit, humor, and sweet smile will be remembered forever.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022 and 8:30-10:45 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve.
A funeral for 97-year-old Helen Frances Naeger of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at the St. Joseph Church in Zell. The Rev. Henry Purcell will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Zell.
Memorials may be made to the Sainte Genevieve Nutrition Center or charity of choice.
