Ste. Genevieve man dies in Route M crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 26-year-old Ste. Genevieve man died Sunday night in a traffic crash on Route M and Gisi Road in Ste. Genevieve County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Abraham D. Sultzer was pronounced at the scene by the assistant Ste. Genevieve County coroner.

The patrol says the crash happened when the 2001 Ford F150 Sultzer was driving south on Route M and failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The pick up ran off the right side of the road onto Gisi Road. Sultzer over-corrected to the left and the pick up began to skid, returned to Route M and crossed the centerline. Sultzer then over-corrected to the right, causing the pick up to rotate clockwise, crossing back over the centerline, then it traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a sign, and began to overturn ejecting Sultzer. The pick up then came to rest on its top.

The crash happened about 10:23 p.m.
