JEFFERSON CITY — A 49-year-old Perryville man was killed in a traffic crash on I-55 in Jefferson County Monday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the victim’s body was taken to the St. Louis County Morgue.
The patrol says the crash happened when the northbound 2021 Frieghtliner Cascadia the man was driving struck the rear of a 2020 Peterbilt 389. The driver of that vehicle, a 50-year-old man from Knoxville, Alabama received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson.
Both drivers were buckled up.
The crash happened about 7:18 a.m. north of the Danby Road overpass.
The patrol says the Freightliner was a total loss and the Peterbilt had moderate damage. Both were towed by Pippins Towing.
