JEFFERSON CITY — A 43-year-old Jackson man was seriously injured in a traffic crash on Route KK in Cape Girardeau County Tuesday afternoon.
Trooper A. R. Shipley stated in his report of the crash that the driver and lone occupant of a 2020 Western Star was taken to St. Louis University Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter.
Trooper Shipley says the man was westbound on Route KK when the Western Star ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver over-corrected and the vehicle then ran off the left side of the roadway and overturned, damaging a speed limit and a curve sign as well the roadway itself.
The Western Star was a total loss and was removed by Midwest Towing.
Trooper Shipley reports the driver was buckled up.
