The eagles are coming, the eagles are coming

MODOC — The 2025 Kaskaskia Eagle Fest event will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at the Jerry F. Costello Lock & Dam, 4800 Lock and Dam Road, Modoc.

There will be eagle watching and viewing of other feathered friends from the World Bird Sanctuary at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Also be sure to catch the wildlife presentations given by the Animology at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Tours of the Lock and Dam will be available by project staff at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Also, several vendors will be on hand, with a live flint knapping demonstration and kids crafts.

Breakfast, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages will be available from a local vendor throughout the day until sold out.

This event is free to all — families and leash-trained dogs welcome for the event.
