STE. GENEVIEVE – Ainsley McClard has ben named the Elks Student of the Month for February from Ste. Genevieve High School.
Ainsley is the daughter of Lance and Laura McClard.
Ainsley’s scholastic honors include: being in the Top 10% of her class, earning A Honor Roll, being recognized with the designation of Summa Cum Laude, and earning the French III course award.
Ainsley was a Rotary International exchange student in Grenoble, France, during her junior year of high school. She also participated in the French Scout Association, as well as the French Model UN organization, where she represented the United States.
She has been involved in a number of clubs and organizations, including: serving as a senior class officer, a Student Council member, the French Club President, and Planet Power Historian. Ainsley is a member of German Club, Mentors, National Art Honor Society, FRIENDS, Rotary Interact Club, Speech and Debate, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild and Rotary ROTEX. She is also a member of the SGHS track and field team, as well as the tennis team at Jackson High School.
Ainsley qualified for FBLA District and State, was named Student Council Student of the Month, and earned recognition in the SEMO All-District Choir and SWACDA Honors Choir. She is a Missouri Bright Flight recipient and has also received numerous school and community art awards.
She is currently employed at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center as a lifeguard. In her free time, Ainsley enjoys crocheting, knitting, painting, Thai boxing, kayaking, reading, and listening to live music. Ainsley was accepted in the honors program at the University of Kansas and plans to complete the Master of Architecture program.
