JEFFERSON CITY — Two persons from Sikeston received minor injuries in an accident involving ice on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Friday afternoon.
According to the report from Missouri State Highway Patrol MSgt. Seiver a 32-year-old female and a 25-year-old male were treated at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital. The male was taken by ambulance while the female drove herself to the hospital.
MSgt Seiver says the accident happened when ice came off a 2019 Volvo VNL driven by a 38-year-old Ferguson man and struck a 2019 Ford Flex driven by the 32-year-old female as both vehicles were traveling south on I-55.
It happened about 5:15 p.m. at the 162.6 emergency reference marker.
The Ford had minor damage. The Volvo had no damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
