George Dean Epplin

George Dean Epplin, 67, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 8:16 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at his residence.

 

He was born to the late George Edward and Mary (nee Schaefer) Epplin on May 30, 1957, in Pinckneyville, Illinois.

 

George married Cindy Menke on July 8, 1978, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois; she survives.

 

He had been a truck driver for Roger Redi-Mix for 45 years.

 

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois, Missouri Bison Association, and Teamsters Local #50. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and taking everyone on “party” tractor rides.

Preceded in death by: Parents, 1 Sister and Brother-in-law – Ruth & Marvin “Tinker” Koester, Father-in-law – Hank Menke, 1 Sister-in-law – Sandy Schaller, and 1 Brother-in-law – Randy Menke

 

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 12 – 4 pm at St. Patrick’s Hall, Ruma, Illinois.
