JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 34-year-old Ste. Genevieve woman’s car was struck head on by a motorized scooter driven by a 55-year-old Benton, Mo. woman late Friday afternoon in Scott County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal J. B. Doyle, in his report of the crash, stated the Benton woman was taken to St. Francis by ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries.
Corp. Doyle says the crash happened when the northbound Ascend motorized scooter the Benton woman was riding struck the front of the southbound 2017 Honda Pilot the Ste. Genevieve woman was driving.
The scooter received extensive damage while the Honda had moderate damage. The scooter was removed by a private party. The Honda was driven from the scene.
The crash happened about 5:55 p.m. on Sandywood Road, three miles north of Sikeston in Scott County.
