Two women hurt in Perry County traffic crash

JEFFERSON CITY — Two persons suffered minor injuries in a traffic crash on Route A in Perry County Sunday night.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper J. S. Collier stated in his crash report that an 21-year-old woman from Altenburg and a 62-year-old woman from Frohna were taken to Mercy Hospital Perry for treatment.

Trooper Collier says the crash happened when a 2022 Nissan Rogue driven by the Frohna woman attempted to cross Route A from Perry County Road 409 and was struck in the passenger side by a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven east on Route A by an 18-year-old Frohna woman.

The report didn’t indicate whether the 18-year-old was injured in the crash. She was apparently not taken to medical facility for treatment. The Altenburg woman who was injured had been a passenger in the Malibu.

The crash happened about 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route A and PCD 409.

Both drivers were buckled up.

Both vehicles had moderate damage: the Nissan was towed from the scene by Ives Towing and the Malibu was towed by Perry County Towing.
