Nola L.Fischer

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 for 80-year-old Nola L. Fischer of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 5:10 am, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois. 


She was born May 11, 1944 in Coulterville, Ill. to Walter W. and Opal (nee Byrd) Spinnie who both preceded in death.

 

Nola married Dennis Fischer on January 7, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri; he survives in Red Bud.

 

She is also survived by two children: Susan (Steven) Hecht of Chester, IL and Kenneth Fischer of Red Bud, IL; three sisters: Joyce Copple of Sparta, IL, Kay Marler of FL. and Victoria Baurke Chester, IL; nine grandchildren: Jonathan (Rachel) Mehring, Elizabeth (Dustin) Oakley, Samuel Mehring, Daniel Mehring, Naomi Sapaw, Thomas Mehring, Timothy (Brooke) Mehring, Rebekah Mehring (Justin Grider), and Matthew Hecht; 11 great grandchildren: Emily and Addelyn Mehring, Logan, Lane and Landon Oakley, Zachary and Lorelei Sapaw, Archer and Averie Mehring, and Charlotte and Maverick Grider; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.


Nola had worked as a counselor at the Human Service Center in Red Bud, Illinois for over five years.


Nola was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Red Bud, Illinois. She enjoyed painting and attending to her flowers outside.


A memorial service for 80-year-old Nola L. Fischer of Red Bud, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Red Bud. The Rev. Cory Hartz will officiate.

 

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Red Bud.

 

Inurnment will be in the St. Marcus Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
