NOTICE: This public symposium may be subject to audio and video recording.

This a continuation of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Nonpoint Source Management Symposium. The purpose of the symposium is to facilitate information sharing between state, federal, local, nonprofit, and private partners to advance the understanding of nonpoint source pollution (NPS) management activities occurring across the state. Symposiums will focus on partner presentations and NPS topics highlighting information relating to:

  • The state Nonpoint Source Management Plan (NPSMP) priorities, such as, protection of wetlands, drinking source water, and sensitive or vulnerable high-quality waters of the state.
  • NPS project presentations, successes, and lessons learned.
  • Watershed planning best practices.
  • Tracking progress in watersheds with 9-element watershed-based plans.
  • Water quality monitoring efforts, technology, or methodology.
  • Education and outreach efforts, resources, or methodology.

The symposium also provides an opportunity for partners and stakeholders working or interested in NPS mitigation to provide quick organizational updates and share ideas and expertise across organizational boundaries.

The symposiums are held three times per year during January, April, and August. Symposiums are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to noon and are held virtually via Webex.

An agenda for this meeting can be found on the symposium webpage.
