Vernon L Wills

A funeral will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 for 90-year-old Vernon L Wills of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

 

He was born February 15, 1934 in Arriba, Colorado, a son to Roy and Esther (Hohlfeld) Wills who both preceded him in death.

 

Vernon and Shirley (Triebes) Wills were married June 13, 1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, she preceded him in death on April 18, 2006.

 

Vernon is survived by a son: Ronald (Jill) Wills of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter: Carla (Jim) Adams of St. Petersburg, Florida; a brother: Herman (Nancy) Wills of Seymour, Indiana, Missouri; five grandchildren: Cassie (Shay Warren) Wills, Matthew (Kaitlyn) Wills, Heather (Wade) Barber, Michael Adams, David Adams; five great-grandchildren: Finn Warren, Caroline Wills, Winston Wills, Bennett Barber, and Everett Barber.

 

He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Dale Wills and Walter Wills.

 

Vernon served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

 

Vernon was a plant manager at MFA in Perryville.

 

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville where he served as an elder and was also a member of American Legion Post No. 133.

 

He enjoyed spending time wood working but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.  Visitation will continue from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.

 

A funeral for 90-year-old Vernon L Wills of Perryville, Missouri will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating.

 

Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville, with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, and Saxony Lutheran High School.
