STE. GENEVIEVE – Students in Mrs. Koenig’s Independent Study class at SGHS recently hosted a “Board Bash Game” event in the SGHS Commons, where families, friends, and teachers were invited to learn and play board games entirely designed and built by the students themselves.
The event highlighted their ingenuity and hard work as they transformed classroom ideas into tangible, interactive games!
The students learned about board game design, last October, when they met with Kathleen Mercury, a former gifted teacher turned college professor and professional game designer, via Zoom.
During the session, they explored essential aspects of game design, including copyright, patents, trademarks, and intellectual property. This hands-on learning experience provided a strong foundation for the students to develop their unique games, which they proudly unveiled at the event, showcasing their creativity and newly acquired design skills.
