Summary of the November 13, 2024 BOE mtg.

VOLUME 18. ISSUE 5.1

 

OPEN SESSION:

 

A patron addressed the board of education regarding the Primary Center Playground equipment.

 

The board approved the consent agenda items which consisted of:

 

  1. Oct. 09, 2024 regular meeting minutes
  2. Nov. 04, 2024 special meeting minutes
  3. Warrants
  4. MSBA policy updates:
  5. AC (Prohibition Against Illegal Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation)
  6. JFG (Searches of Students)
  7. JG / JG-R1 (Student Discipline)
  8. EHBD (Artificial Intelligence)
  9. EEA-AP1 (Student Transportation services – student transportation in private vehicles and common carriers)

 

The board approved the following during the open session:

 

  • FY 2024-25 Bus routes / emergency bus routes.
  • Approval to re-submit RFP for Surplus Equipment- Buses.
  • Approval to publish an RFP notification for Underwriting services for long-range financial and long-range facilities planning.
  • Adopted MSBA policy BBFA (Board member conflict of interest and financial disclosure).

 

The board reviewed and discussion the following recommended MSBA Policy Updates:

  • GB-1 (Part-Time and Substitute Employment)
  • GBE (Staff Health and Safety)
  • GCBDA (Professional Staff Short-Term Leaves)
  • GDBDA (Support Staff Leaves)
  • EBBC (Lactation Support) Informational items:

                        Dr. Jones presented the financial report.

                        Jane Narrow presented the MAP/EOC data and the Literacy plan.

 

The Spotlight featured the preschool program’s current progress.   

 

The board watched the MSBA video.

 

CLOSED SESSION:

The board approved the following closed session minutes:

  1. a) Oct. 09, 2024 regular meeting minutes
  2. b) Nov. 04, 2024 special meeting minutes

 

The board approved to the following motions for the 2024-25 school year during the Nov. 13th board closed session:

 

Personnel Matters

 

1) Retirement

  1. a) Janice Guebert as a SPED teacher effective June 30, 2025

2) Resigning

  1. a) Bettina Comstock as an art teacher effective May 23, 2025

 

3) New Hires (Transfers)

  1. a) Julie Wibbenmeyer will transfer into the Board of Education Secretary &                         Superintendent Administrative Assistant, while keeping her current H.R. responsibilites.
  2. b) Dorris Thieret will transfer from an admin. II position to a paraprofessional student                         aide position.
