SGES students sign beam for construction project

STE. GENEVIEVE – On Thursday, Oct. 10, several Ste. Genevieve Elementary students participated in a “beam signing” activity for the new gymnasium and secure entry addition.

Construction crews prepared a steel beam for the students to sign, and flew an American flag as part of a tradition for the steel construction industry.

The students who participated were randomly selected from each classroom.

They included: Emersyn Jokerst, Aiden Schierhoff, Clint Donze, Danielle Davault, Tessa Rayoum, Elijah Kingery, Kinley Kueker, Broxton Hartley, Alex Drennen, Stephen Coffman, Samuel Bauman, Jacyi Sauer, Daxton Pinkley, Jonny Woods, Emelia Thompson, Tessa Cambron, August Abts, Gus Hill, Jacen Miles, Kinley Deck, Alaena Knight, Lexus Evans, Connor Roth, Layla Arnold, Lucy Long, Mason Hurst and Macy Moll.

This event gave students a unique, hands-on opportunity to be part of the construction process for their school’s new addition. Ste. Genevieve Elementary would like to thank Brockmiller Construction Incorporated for making it possible for these students to be a part of this experience.

“And we would like to thank John Otto for donating the SGE sign,” a school district official stated.
