Paul ‘Zoomer’ M. Zemlyn

Paul “Zoomer” M. Zemlyn, 72, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 5:32 am, Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.

 

Paul was born June 23, 1952 in St. Louis, the son of Dr. Milton and Rosemary (nee Huey) Zemlyn who both preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by a sister: Joby (Don) McAdams of Chester, Ill.; two nieces: Meghan (Roger) Wilde

and Molly (Frank) Ignasiak; a great niece and nephew: Sophie and Lincoln Ignasiak and many friends.

 

He had worked at Menard Correctional Center, Chester, Illinois for 25 years. 

 

Paul was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Chester Country Club, and Eagles Club Aerie #3252, all in Chester. 

 

Paul was very involved in Ducks Unlimited.

 

He devoted his life to helping young people learn the game of golf and was the assistant golf coach for Chester High School for many years. Paul also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.

 

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and University of Tennessee fan. In his younger years, he played men’s softball and helped coach little league baseball.

 

It was Paul’s wish to be cremated.
