CHESTER, Ill. — The Chester High School YellowJackets Football Team improved to 6-0 overall with a 41-0 shut out of Carlyle last night at W. O. Smith field at CHS.

In the win, Chester likely clinched a bid to the 2024 IHSA Class 2A Football Playoffs!

Another major impressive accomplishment in last night’s game was the fact that Quarterback Zain Al-Jassim set a new school record for all-time passing yards!

Old record by Nick Meyer was 3,954 passing yards

Zain came into the game with 3,700 passing yards

He needed just 254 passing yards to tie and 255 passing yards to break the Chester High School all-time passing record

Against Carlyle he passed for 257, thusly setting a new school record of 3,957, surpassing the former record by 3 passing yards.

The Jackets are playing well and have a focused approach to the season! One game at a time! Elite Warriors who BELIEVE, TRUST, And FINISH!
