CHS Boys beat Murphysboro in dual match

With the win, CHS finishes 2024 regular season 30-8

CHESTER – The Chester High School YellowJacket Boys Golf Team closed out the 2024 regular season Monday September 30 in a dual match against Murphysboro.

The Jackets traveled to the Jackson County Country Club for the event that featured the host Red Devils and the visiting Chester YellowJackets. The Jackets came out on top with a score of 164 strokes.

The YellowJacket Boys Golf Team finished the regular season with a record of 30-8.

The Jackets traveled to Anna-Jonesboro Wednesday for the 2024 IHSA Golf Tournament.

The Jackets are coached by Head Coach Jaden Mott. He is assisted by Paul Zemlyn and Tony James.

Senior Evan Dunning shot a 39 in the match against the Murphysboro Red Devils Monday September 30. It was Chester’s final regular-season match and Dunning’s performance was the second-best on the YellowJacket’s squad. Chester beat Murphy with a team score of 164 strokes. Jim Beers Photo
