Doors for the performance will open at 6:45 p.m., with tickets valid only until 7:15 p.m. Open seating, including for people who are waiting in the standby line, will begin at 7:15 p.m. Typically patrons without tickets are still able to get into the concert when vacant seats are made available.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Large bags and backpacks are not permitted. The SIU School of Music is sponsoring the concert with support from the school’s Fine Arts Activity Fee.

Christopher Morehouse, professor and director of bands in the School of Music, said he is “thrilled there has been such a positive response.”

This is the band’s first concert at SIU Carbondale since Oct. 15, 1950, and it is part of the band’s 2024 coast-to-coast tour. About 160 members comprise “The President’s Own,” including musicians and support staff.

The tour band should be close to 65 members.
