Speaker Dean Plocher recognized as a 2024 Business Champion by Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher has been recognized as a 2024 Business Champion by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This prestigious honor is awarded to state lawmakers who have demonstrated strong support for pro-business policies during the 2024 legislative session, helping to make Missouri a more competitive place for businesses to thrive.

The Business Champion distinction is based on key votes supporting economic growth, and only legislators who have aligned with the Chamber on at least 70 percent of priority business issues are included. This year, 24 members of the Missouri Senate and 103 members of the Missouri House of Representatives met that criteria. Click here to see the full list.

“We are committed to creating an environment in Missouri where businesses can grow, innovate, and create jobs,” said Speaker Dean Plocher, R-Des Peres. “Being recognized as a Business Champion by the Missouri Chamber is an honor, and it reflects our dedication to passing policies that strengthen our economy and enhance the quality of life for all Missourians. Together, we are making strides toward a stronger, more competitive state economy.”

“The Business Champion recognition is our way of thanking Speaker Dean Plocher and Missouri’s other top pro-business lawmakers for their commitment to moving our state forward,” said Missouri Chamber Interim President and CEO Kara Corches. “During the 2024 legislative session, political chaos threatened to derail our state’s progress. We applaud the Business Champions who stood up against anti-business extremists and focused on practical governance – growing the economy, improving public safety and ensuring access to quality health care and hospitals.”

Representative Dean Plocher, a Republican, represents part of St. Louis County (District 89) in the Missouri House of Representatives.
