SG R-II Director of Transportation Kennith Jones, Valle Catholic Schools High School Principal Craig Gibbs, and SG R-II Superintendent Dr. Paul Taylor met Friday, Aug. 23, to discuss the transition of the vehicles and make the transfer of ownership official.
“Our nonpublic schools have been good partners with us for many, many years, and since the acquisition of the buses and transportation services, we have been committed to assisting them in any way possible,” Dr. Taylor said. “Working together is paramount to our success, and our goals are the same —educating our students and ensuring they are ready to take on the world.”
“We are so thankful for the wonderful relationship we continue to have and cultivate with our neighbors at the public school. Providing a quality education that promotes growth for the whole student is a priority for both schools, and we are fortunate to partner with Ste. Gen R-II in this endeavor,” said Craig Gibbs.
Background
After extensive deliberation and careful consideration during the Spring of 2024, the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District’s Board of Education made the decision to purchase Fallert Bus Service’s bus fleet, property and Bus Barn and incorporate transportation into existing district operations. This decision came about after Fallert Bus Service representatives expressed their desire to retire at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
