Ste. Genevieve County sales tax receipts fall again

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Missouri Department of Revenue transferred more than $88,000 into Ste. Genevieve County’s bank account August 6th.

It represents the latest transfer of sales tax paid by shoppers in the county and sounds like a lot of money.

However, the $88,000 is down more than $3,000 from the same month last year and so far this year the amount is down more than $93,000.

Similar losses were seen in the county’s other sales taxes which are used to pay for law enforcement and the community center.
