Ste. Genevieve County wants its $800,000 worth of sales tax revenue back

STE. GENEVIEVE – The Ste. Genevieve County Commission unanimously approved an ordinance Monday asking that the Missouri Department of Revenue return the $800,000 it has taken from the county’s sales tax revenue over the past couple of years, ever since the revenue department exempted certain industries from paying sales tax.

It was noted the action was taken without the consent of Ste. Genevieve County and without any notification, leaving county officials scratching their heads over the missing money.
