A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 for 97-year-old Frank “Bill” W. Bergman of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 at his residence.
He was born February 2, 1927 in to Frank and Margaret Bergman, who both preceded him in death.
Bill and Lois Marie Benedict were married May 6, 1950 in Belleville, Ill. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2021.
Survivors include two sons: Michael Bergman of Perryville, Mo., and David Bergman of Phenix City, Ala.; a daughter: Teresa Schnurbusch of Sparta, Ill.; six grandchildren: Jennifer, John, Angela, Ashley, Chelsea, Aja; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Robert Bergman; and a grandson: Jeremy Koenig.
He served in the United States Naval Reserves during World War II.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post No. 133 and the Perryville Country Club.
Bill worked at Armour Foods as a quality control engineer and then went to work at Prince Gardner as a time study engineer. He later became an administrator at the Perry County Nursing Home.
Bill also served the city of Perryville as mayor and as an alderman several times. Bill was an avid golfer and spent most of his time playing or watching golf.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association
