James F. Thompson, Jr., 55, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed at 12:40 pm, Friday, August 2, 2024, at his residence.
He was born to James and Glenda C. (nee Cathers) Sr. on November 28, 1968, in East Louis, Illinois. J
James preceded him in death. Glenda (Jerry) Glosson survives in Hollow Rock, Tenn.
James married Vanessa L. Vasques on March 18, 2016; she survives in Red Bud, Illinois.
James served in the National Guard and then enlisted in the United States Army until he was honorable discharged.
He enjoyed spending time outside and going fishing with his wife, Vanessa.
He is also survived by two children: Brittany (Kevin) Fitzgerald and Dillon James Logan Thompson both of Waterloo, Ill.; two sisters: Tammy (Susan) Hendrix-Philbrook of Pittsburgh, Mass. and Mary Jo McMakin of Hollow Rock, Tenn.; three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Robert Thompson.
It was James’ wish to be cremated.
