Lonnie S. Cleveland

A funeral will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 for 54-year-old Lonnie S. Cleveland of Ellis Grove, Illinois, who passed away peacefully at 8:05 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at his residence.

 

He was born August 19, 1969 in Centreville, Ill. a son to John who survives in De Leon Springs, Fla.  and Margaret (nee Mercer) Pierce who survives in Steeleville, Ill.

 

Lonnie married Cheryl Birke May 5, 1990 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois; she survives in Ellis Grove, Ill.

 

He is also survived by his stepmother: Connie Burris of Junction City, Ill.; three sons: Lukcan (Heather) Cleveland of Evansville, Ill., Mitchel Cleveland of Steeleville, Ill., and Brett Cleveland of Ellis Grove, Ill.; two grandsons: Henry and Connor; three siblings: Beth McKenna of Malakoff,Tex., Johnny Cleveland of De Leon Springs, Fla. and Susan (David) McGee of Red Bud, Ill.; two step siblings: Anthony Burris of Enfield, Ill. and Tonya (Chris) Oldham of Shawneetown, Ill.; many nieces; nephews; cousins; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

 

He was also preceded in death by his step-mother; Wanda Cleveland; step-father: Glenn Pierce and a sister: Mickey Kauffman.

 

He was a correctional sergeant at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois for the past 11 years. 

 

Lonnie enjoyed taking jeep rides and was a member of 618 Jeep club.

 

Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois.


A funeral for 54-year-old Lonnie S. Cleveland of Ellis Grove, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois. The Rev. Shane Sullins will officiate.

 

Memorials may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
