JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Missouri rose nearly 55 percent between December 27th and 31st according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Service.
The seven day total of confirmed and probable cases for the period ending December 31 was 43,730 an increase of 15,503 cases or about 55 percent higher than the seven days ending December 27th.
The average number of confirmed and probable cases per day was around 6,247.
The number of confirmed and probable deaths during the period was 24.
The vaccination rate in Missouri is 53.9 percent for those who have completed the vaccination series.
Perry County had 78 confirmed and probable cases for the week ending December 31st, a 50 percent increase compared with the seven days ending December 27th.
That’s a daily average of 11 new cases a day.
There were 18 new confirmed cases on Decembr 27th, 20 on December 28th and 27 on December 29th.
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Perry County is 39.4 percent.
Ste. Genevieve County had 69 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending December 31st, a 19 percent increase over the seven days ending December 27th. That’s an average of 10 new cases a day.
There were 17 new cases December 27 and 28, 13 new cases December 29 and 10 new cases December 26.
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Ste. Genevieve County 45.3 percent.
