Dorothy Jean Hotop, 86, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at her residence.
She was born June 21, 1938 in Silver Lake, MO to Earl J. and Hester (Coffelt) Geile.
Dorothy and James Hotop were married April 8, 1978 at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, MO. He survives her in Perryville.
She was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.
Dorothy was a home maker. She enjoyed crafting ceramics and teaching others as well. Dorothy loved decorating for Christmas and had a large doll collection. She would babysit for anyone.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Keith A. Gross, Derek K. (Angie) Gross; daughter, Vickie S. (Dean) Menard; two brothers, Ronnie Geile, Donnie (Karen) Geile; two sisters, Norma Waller, Judy (Donnie) Amschler; nine grandchildren, Chasity, Travis, Lance, Drew, Terica, Adam, Jacob, Gabrielle, Alexandria; tweleve great-grandchildren, Brooke, Dillon, Kylee,Travis, Ezz, Ben, Daisy, Arron, Isaac, Kalli, Kayda, Braelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Erline Kline, Cozy Scherer; brother, James Geile; daughter, Jeanie Ernst; two grandchildren, Lindsay Finley, Trevor Gross.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Visitation will continue from 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 am.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle with Rev. Michael Benz and Rev. Jim French officiating.
Burial will be at St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle.
Memorial contributions may be given to Journey Hospice or St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery.
