A private inurnment service will be held at a future date for 78-year-old Max L. Tinsman Jr. of Chester, Ill., who passed away at 1:43 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He was born May 21, 1946 in Mattoon, Ill. to Max and Mary (nee Eggers) Tinsman, Sr. who both preceded him in death.
Max married Donna Young on September 4, 1965 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois; she survives in Chester.
He is also survived by two sons: Corey (Ashley) Tinsman of Denton, Tex. and Charles (Amanda) Tinsman of Fort Worth, Tex.; a brother: Randy (Bess) Tinsman of Fairmount, Ill.; six grandchildren: Rayne, Madison, Avery, Landon, Ashton, and Braden.
He had worked at GTE and Egyptian Telephone for 40 years.
Max was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois, and Masonic Lodge No. 427, Red Bud, Illinois. He was an Army National Guard veteran.
Max enjoyed target shooting, fishing, and woodworking.
He loved spending time with his family and friends.
It was Max’s wish to be cremated and a private inurnment service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Chester, Illinois at a future date.
Memorials in Max’s memory may be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Mary’s Catholic School or Church and are being accepted at the funeral home.
