Perryville announces changes to police dispatching

From a news release

PERRYVILLE — As of Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office has begun to share dispatching services with the police department from the hours of midnight to 7 a.m. This change is due to a staffing issue at the police department.

During this timeframe, any calls to the police department will automatically be routed to the sheriff’s office. City officers will respond as always and there will be no interruption of services to the community.

Should you come into the lobby of the police department during this timeframe, you will find a phone in the lobby which will connect you directly to the sheriff’s office dispatch. They can dispatch an officer to the police department if needed.

When we transition to the new building and eventually to St. Francois County Dispatch, this will be how we operate after business hours.
