STE GENEVIEVE — Ste. Genevieve hosts its June 4th Friday Art Walk event June 28 from 6pm to 9 pm.
Art venues throughout the historic downtown area will be open.
On N. Main Street Music Art Love will have two featured artists: Josh Gray and Angie Dalton, along with live music by Hailey Jane.
E•KLeK•TiX Studio & Gallery will feature artists Kathy and Steve Hicks plus new work by resident artist Jean Rissover who will be celebrating her 82nd birthday. Everyone is invited for a look at the art plus complimentary beverages and birthday cookies.
In the same block Rust and Only Child Originals will be open with art and craft items on display.
In midtown a recently-formed local troupe of “traveling artists” (Cindy Spradling, Linda P Smith, Iris Vincent, Jennifer Klemp, Ashton Karibian, Melody Klemp and the Hicks) will show their art on the west side of Third Street between Market and Merchant.
The Walk provides an almost-last-chance to view the Sainte Genevieve Art Guild’s Promenade des Art exhibit honoring Ste. Genevieve Art Colony artist Joseph P. Vorst. The evening includes the closing reception for the impressive tribute which ends June 30, and a live demonstration of a relief block printing process, one of many techniques used by Vorst. Those who attend also can see the impressive recently—installed outdoor steel sculpture created by Leon Basler and Stan Winkler. The Guild is located at Merchant and Third.
ASL Pewter and Silver Sycamore will be open in the area of Market and Third Street.
QRST will be open on Market and Second, showing work by local artists.
Other businesses may also be participating.
Most Art Walk activities are free and open to everyone.
