JEFFERSON CITY – Colonel Michael A. Turner, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, has announced that 28 troopers graduated from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
The ceremony took place at 9 a.m. at the Patrol Academy gymnasium. The 123rd Recruit Class reported to the Academy on January 2, 2025. The new troopers will report to duty in their assigned troops on July 7, 2025.
The Honorable Kelly Broniec, Supreme Court of Missouri, administered the Oath of Office to the new troopers. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey provided the keynote address, and Colonel Turner also addressed the class. The Troop F Color Guard presented the colors and Sergeant Andrew A. Henry (H) performed the national anthem. Pastor Jeremy Hostettler, Weaubleau First Baptist Church, provided the invocation and benediction.
Four class awards were presented during the graduation ceremony. The recruits accumulated points toward graduation in the categories of physical fitness, firearms, and academics throughout their 25 weeks at the Academy. The person with the highest number of points in each category earned the respective award. The recruit with the highest number of points overall earned the Superintendent’s Award.
Trooper Benjamin W. Dillon accepted the Physical Fitness Award; Trooper Dillon also accepted the Firearms Trophy; and Trooper Rothman R. Harris III accepted the Academics Award.
Colonel Turner presented the Colonel C. E. “Mel” Fisher Superintendent’s Award to Trooper Jared Q. Hummel.
Trooper Charles C. Swederska served as Chaplain, Trooper Daniel D. Mullins served as the Vice Commander, and Trooper Dallas T. Waller served as the Commander of the 123rd recruit class.
One of the new troopers, Rothman R. Harris III of Farmington, has been assigned to Troop C Zone 16: Ste. Genevieve and Perry Counties.
