Perryville woman graduates from the College of Saint Mary

OMAHA, Neb. – A Perryville woman was among the 129 students who received their degrees from the College of Saint Mary during commencement May 17 at the Lied Fitness Center Fieldhouse on campus.

 

Kira Hagan, received Bachelor of Science Degree. She is a member of  Kappa Gamma Pi National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society, and Sr. Mary Constance Walsh Society. She is a recipient of the Spirit of Saint Mary Award.

 

“Today, we celebrate more than academic achievements-we celebrate transformation. You arrived at College of Saint Mary with hopes and goals, and you’re leaving with purpose,” President Heather Smith said during the ceremony. “You realized your unique ability to make an impact on the world. You persevered when you faced challenges. You gained the courage to embody who you truly are. You found the confidence to become a leader.”

 

The commencement address was delivered by United Pacific President Beth Whited. 

 

“Graduates of College of Saint Mary, you are ready to create your own paths, define your own success and live life to its fullest,” Whited said. “May you find joy in the journey, strength in your power and peace in knowing that you don’t have to have it all figured out. Congratulations and best wishes for the incredible adventures that lie ahead.”

 

Of the 129 graduates, 30 received doctoral degrees, 11 received master’s degrees and 88 received bachelor’s degrees.  

 

Other graduation activities included a Baccalaureate Mass and an Honors Convocation.
