Four hurt in I-55 crash Sunday

JEFFERSON CITY – Four persons, all from Florissant, were hurt in a traffic crash on I-55 in Perry County Sunday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 32-year-old woman had moderate injuries, an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl had minor injuries and were Mercy Hospital Perry. A second 32-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The patrol says the crash happened when a northbound 2007 GMC Yukon driven by one of the women blew a tire and ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a rock bluff and overturned.

It happened about 3 p.m. at the 131 mile marker.

The Yukon was a total loss and was removed by Perry County Towing.

The two children were buckled up, but the adults were unrestrained.
