Shay Coleman named SGHS May Elks Student of the Month

STE. GENEVIEVE Congratulations to Shay Coleman, the Elks Student of the Month for May from Ste. Genevieve High School.

Shay is the son of Robert and Tonya Coleman.

Shay’s scholastic honors include: being ranked 9th in his class, being in the Top 10 Percent of his class all four years of high school, being recognized with the designation of Summa Cum Laude, and earning the College Prep Western Civilization and Web Design course awards.

He has been involved in a number of clubs and organizations, including: Student Council (Executive Board) for three years, National Honor Society (NHS) (officer position of Secretary) for three years, Class Officer (2025 Class President) for two years, Track and Field for four years, Cross Country for four years, Speech and Debate for four years, FRIENDS for two years, Planet Power (officer position of Secretary) for two years, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) for one year.

During his high school career, Shay was chosen to attend Missouri Scholars Academy and Missouri Boys State. He also received the Heart of The Dragon award.

Shay is currently employed at Stella and Me Cafe. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family. He plans to attend the University of Michigan and study Political Science.
