Thomas Varga awarded FSCB Cooper Scholarship

STE. GENEVIEVE – First State Community Bank (FSCB) is pleased to announce Thomas Varga, a Valle Catholic High School senior, as one of the recipients of the 2025 William H. Cooper Scholarship. Thomas plans to attend Maryville University and major in Actuarial Science.

“I am so thankful for FSCB and their generous scholarship for my future. I am elated that all my hard work has paid off and I will have the opportunity to more freely pursue my academic goals,” said Varga.

The William H. Cooper Leadership Scholarship is a leadership-based scholarship for undergraduates who desire to further their education in a business-related field. The recipient selections are based on a review of written applications and letters of recommendation. The finalists also participate in personal interviews. This year, 90 applicants from 34 different school districts were included.

“We are excited that one of our local students was selected as a semifinalist for the Cooper Scholarship. Thomas represents Valle Catholic High School and his community very well. He should be proud of his accomplishments. We wish him the best in his future education, career path, and endeavors,” said Scott Williams, FSCB President Ste. Genevieve.
