BLOOMSDALE – Bloomsdale Elementary School students, staff and families came together to make a big impact for a great cause—collecting 649 pounds of aluminum can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)!
The effort was part of a Tab Collection Competition organized by the Bloomsdale Elementary PTO. As part of the RMHC Pop Tab Program, the collected tabs will be recycled, with proceeds helping cover expenses like utility bills for families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses while their children receive medical care.
To wrap up the campaign, the school held a spirited assembly, where the top four classes competed in a live weigh-in to determine which class brought in the most tabs. The results were impressive:
Paige Naeger’s 4th Grade Class: 134.48 lbs
Julie Meyrose’s 1st Grade Class: 77.13 lbs
Janel Reiss’ 5th Grade Class: 51.18 lbs
Aaron Stuppy’s 5th Grade Class: 46.35 lbs
Every student at BLE will be treated to a Luna’s Moonsicle as a thank-you for their hard work and dedication. Representatives from Ronald McDonald House were deeply moved by the donation, noting how impactful this kind of community support is for their mission.
BLE is proud to help make a difference—one tab at a time. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to all students, staff and the Bloomsdale Elementary PTO for making this community-driven effort such a success!
