Carl J. Stuppy

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 for 61-year-old Carl J. Stuppy who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 28, 2025.

He was born October 30, 1963 to Leanna and Norman L. Stuppy.

Carl is survived by his mother: Leanna (Joggerst) Stuppy, and siblings: David (Chae) Stuppy of O’Fallon, Ill.; Richard (the late Tonya) Stuppy of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; Randy (Karin) Stuppy of Kansas City, Mo.; Linda (Paul) Arnold of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; Bill (Terri) Stuppy of Bloomsdale, Mo.; Deb (John) Kraenzle of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; Cathy “Bugs” Stuppy of Ste. Genevieve, Mo, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews that he loved a lot.

He is also fondly remembered by his bonus family: Amy, Andrew, Skyler, and Damien.

Carl was preceded in death by his father, Norman L. Stuppy; his sister-in-law, Tonya Stuppy; his nephew, Tyler Kraenzle; and his grandparents.

Carl lived a quiet life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and simple pleasures.

He spent many years employed at Mississippi Lime Company and later at the Dunklin School District, where his steady presence and reliability were valued by all who knew him.

Carl was a private, behind-the-scenes kind of person, preferring a calm and steady rhythm to life.

He loved exploring new places, whether hiking through nature or discovering somewhere unfamiliar, and he was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. Though he kept to himself, Carl enjoyed hearing about the lives and adventures of his nieces and nephews. His way of connecting – often with a small gesture like slipping them a Christmas gift from “Santa” – showed a quiet, caring spirit that left a lasting impression.

Moved by the journey of someone close to him, Carl made the quiet, selfless decision to donate his body to science, hoping his gift would help save lives

Carl’s quiet strength, love of exploration, and steadfast heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for Carl will be held Saturday May 3, 2025 at the Basler Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Hospice.
