A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025 for 66-year-old James H. Cantrall Jr. of Red Bud, Ill., who passed away at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at his residence.
He was born December 29, 1958 in East St. Louis, Ill. a son to James and Barbara (nee Madison) Cantrall Sr. who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by three children: Tisha Cantrall of Dupo, Ill., Jennifer Cantrall of Belleville, Ill. and James (Carla) Cantrall of New Athens, Ill.; two siblings: Laura Cantrall of Ellis Grove, Ill. and David (Peggy) Foster of Farmers Branch, Tex., seven grandchildren: Dakota Medford, Bryanne McBride, Nicholas Marshall, Jacob Guenther, Samuel Badgett, Jace Cantrall, and Raya Cantrall; two great grandchildren: Alaina and Joshua Nolte; a special Friend: Helen Mache of Red Bud, Ill.; a special niece: Larissa (Kurt) Wandro of Red Bud, Ill.; a special nephew: Corry Patterson (Kerri Setzer) Sparta, Ill.; two great nephews: Keaton and Grayson Wandro; the mother of his children: Peggy Cantrall of Belleville, Ill.; a cousin: Norman Roy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Sharon Moore, a grandson: Nathan Cantrall, a granddaughter: Vivian Cantrall, and a nephew: Steven Freeman.
James was an over-the-road truck driver for 40 years and a member of the Teamsters.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and having a fish fry.
A celebration of life gathering for 66-year-old James H. Cantrall Jr. of Red Bud, Ill., will be held Sunday, May 4, 2025 starting at 2 p.m. at the Harriss Hideout, 400 S. Johnson St., New Athens, Ill. 62264.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes.
