Carol Ann Wibbenmeyer

A celebration of life will be held at a future date for 86-year-old Carol Ann Wibbenmeyer of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., who passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Riverview at the Park in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

She was born March 24, 1939 in Perryville, Mo., the daughter of Stanislaus Wibbenmeyer and Beatrice (Chappius) Wibbenmeyer, who both preceded her in death.

 

She married John Wibbenmeyer on December 8, 1981. He survives in Ste. Genevieve.

 

She is also survived by two sons: Kenneth Ernst of St. Charles, Mo., and Kevin (Debbie) Ernst of Wentzville, Mo.; a daughter: Sandra (David) Shapiro of St. Charles, Mo.; daughter-in-law: Marian Reed; stepson: Peter (Christina) Wibbenmeyer of Smyrna, Tenn; a brother: Donald (Debora) Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Mo.; three sisters: Barbara (belated Stan) Ernst of Creve Coeur, Mo., Deborah (Jim) Hoffman of St. Charles, Mo, Alice (Bill) Wichern of St. Peters, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Myra (Don) Gremaud, Mary (Fred) Ochs; and a brother: Alan Wibbenmeyer;

 

Friends and family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.

 

Memorials may be made to Riverview at the Park Nursing Center.

 

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of Woman’s Club of Sainte Genevieve.

 

Carol was a loving person who cherished her children, grandchildren, and all children.

 

She was friends with every body as well as all of her fellow residents and staff at Riverview, especially Allen and Brandi.

 

Carol was very creative and owned a business called Carol’s Creations downtown.

 

Carol’s favorite occupation was working for the City of Ste Genevieve at the Visitor’s Center. She organized bus tours as well as walking tours for visitors. The job was not a job for Carol, it was her vocation.
