JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri State Senator Jamie Burger, R-Benton, applauded two local senior citizens who were the recent recipients of a Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award for their distinguished community service and hours of volunteerism. Following the annual awards ceremony in the Capitol’s Rotunda, Sen. Burger congratulated Jim Eddleman of Perryville and Ray Reinagle of Kelso for earning this esteemed recognition for their heroic actions and contributions.
“Senior citizens who volunteer their time, talent and experience to positively impact local communities deserve recognition,” said Sen. Burger. “I applaud the efforts of these two public servants who have left an indelible mark and greatly benefited the residents of Perryville and Kelso for decades.”
A decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, Jim Eddlemen was instrumental in founding Missouri’s National Veteran’s Memorial in Perryville, which welcomes 18,000 visitors a year and contains a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.

Ray Reinagle is a faith leader, coach and role model at Notre Dame Regional High School in Cape Girardeau who has devoted more than 20 years to helping and mentoring youth.
