STE. GENEVIEVE – On Sunday, April 6, Ste. Genevieve Middle School band and Fundamentals of Music students traveled to Stifel Theatre in St. Louis to attend a unique performance by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra: a live scoring of Batman, featuring composer Danny Elfman’s original music performed alongside the film.
This marks the fifth SGMS field trip to the symphony, but this particular visit was especially memorable. It was the final performance students will see at the historic Stifel Theatre, as the Symphony prepares to return to its newly renovated home, Powell Hall, for the 2025–26 season.
Adding to the excitement of the day? Students had the opportunity to meet Batman himself!
This trip blended cinematic thrills with live orchestral music, giving students a firsthand look at how music enhances storytelling—and offered a fitting finale to SGMS’s visits to Stifel Theatre.
This year there are 70 students enrolled in SGMS Band classes. Don’t miss out on the fun!
