Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau donates to SEMO NASV to support survivors of abuse

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — The Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau has presented a charitable donation to the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO NASV) in support of its ongoing mission to provide compassionate care and advocacy for survivors of sexual abuse and assault.

As part of Zonta’s commitment to advancing the status of women and children through service and advocacy, this donation will help SEMO NASV continue offering forensic interviews, medical exams, and counseling services at no cost to victims and their families.

“We are honored to support the life-changing work of SEMO NASV,” said Sandy Hasting, Service Chair of the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau. “Their trauma-informed services bring hope and healing to survivors in our region. Supporting them aligns perfectly with Zonta’s mission to empower women and promote human rights.”

SEMO NASV Executive Director Alix Gasser expressed gratitude for the local club’s generous support.

“We’re incredibly thankful to the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau for standing with us,” said Gasser. “This donation directly supports our ability to respond quickly and compassionately to child and adult victims of abuse. We’re proud to be part of a community that prioritizes safety, dignity, and recovery.”

This contribution is part of Zonta’s broader commitment to making a lasting impact through hands-on service and strategic philanthropy in Southeast Missouri. The club continues to seek opportunities to collaborate with community partners like SEMO NASV who share their vision for a world free of violence and inequality.
