4th Friday Art Walk set for March 28 in Ste. Genevieve

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve kicks off the 2025 season for it’s 4th Friday Art Walk March 28 with eight art spaces participating. The Walk takes place in the town’s historic downtown from 6 p.m to 9 p.m.

The Ste. Genevieve Art Guild at Third and Merchant will feature work by member artists, it’s permanent display telling the story of Ste. Genevieve as an art community, and for one night only, a special exhibit of art and photographs honoring one of the leaders in the local art community, the late Mary L. Peura.

On Market Street at Third there’ll be lots going on at Silver Sycamore Gallery including a chance to meet master woodturner Mike Uding whose wooden cycle-cart creation will be on display, along with pastel work by M. Charles Rhinehart and original paintings from the art colony that was based in the town in the 1930s. Artist and gallery owner Leon Basler will offer a painting demonstration at the gallery located at Market and Third Street.

Almost just around the corner on Third, ASL Pewter will show off the gallery/workshop’s amazing collection of everything pewter, ranging from delightful decorative pieces to amazing, lovely, more utilitarian wares. And it’s a chance to meet artisan owners Pat and Tom Hooper.

East on Market at Second, tearoom and tea emporium QRST will have local art for sale and will be offering a workshop on the “fine art” of napkin folding.

In the Little Bohemia neighborhood on North Main Sam Conlon’s Rust and Only Child Originals will feature Sam’s amazingly creative art and jewelry and a new collection of stunning clothing collected during Sam’s recent trip to the Far East.

At E•KLeK•TiX Studio & Gallery, in the same block on North Main, owner J Rissover is showing some new, never-before-shown in Ste. Genevieve work, including pieces inspired by current world affairs, along with several new paintings and (as always) “other interesting stuff.”

Across the street Music Art Love will feature artist Gregory Wendt and showcase live classic blues and rock music by South City Winos duo Patrick and Bryan. And you can shop other art, jewelry, crafts, clothing and oddities.

Most 4th Friday activities are free and open to everyone.
