“My first experience with the Missouri citizen initiative was passing an anti-corruption constitutional amendment,” said Toni Easter, co-founder of the Respect MO Voters Coalition. “I attended meetings, signed the petition, and held a yard party to get others involved. I was proud of the people’s accomplishment, and it broke my heart when it was overturned.”

The cross-partisan group will hold at least 25 Town Halls across Missouri to gather as much citizen input as possible before drafting a constitutional amendment they plan to add to the November 2026 Missouri ballot. The amendment will ban politicians from interfering with initiatives that voters have already passed, attacking citizens’ ability to use the initiative process, and using misleading language on ballots to manipulate voters.

This campaign stands out because it was founded and its departments are being led by volunteers.

The Town Hall will include a short presentation by Toni Easter, co-founder of the Respect MO Voters Coalition.  Attendees will be asked for their input through a survey and open conversation. Organizers will also share information on how attendees can get more involved with the coalition.
